Ridiculous Reference #4

So here I am home alone and I need a shot of Einstein kissing a lady's hand. Not the hardest of shots but it gave me some trouble so I clicked on the old Photo Booth on my Mac and started shooting. I dressed the part for Einstein but went ahead and kept on my PJ's for the girls arm pic. Lets face it, no matter what I put on for her picture I was gonna look stupid. so I got 2 shots that worked well enough together opened them up in Preview next to my pg in Sketchbook Pro and started drawing.  I added in some onlookers but Im not sure if it looks cluttered or not. Once its all inked I'll be able to decide if I'll keep them. This is the last pg of the story so look for it soon.

Pin-Up tests

These are some test poses for an illustration job I'm working on. I took a bunch of reference shots of Hattie but there is no way she would let me post those. You'll have to come over to Baconhut Studios to see them. I feel like I was channeling Greg Tocchini in the first one.

Ridiculous Reference #3

Today I had to draw Albert getting back handed by a big ass gladiator & I wasn't in the mood to throw myself around hoping while trying to take a picture. So I did a rough layout of the panel & then used a Poser model to get the right pose. Its a useful program when you need to check or keep thing in proportion & you don't have anyone around to hep you out.

Since I cant really post up full pages of my Albert Einstein: Time Mason book I'm going to keep posting reference shots with the finished drawings. In these shots I wanted to get the fists looking as good as possible since they are the main focus so using Photo Booth on my Mac i snapped a few & started drawin. I may or may not have add a little muscle to the characters.....

Time Mason Promo #2

Hopefully this image gives you a better look at what the tone of my AE Time Mason book will be like. A time & dimension hopping adventure. Not the Albert Einstein that we have all grown up knowing.

Albert Einstein Time Mason

Here is the first promo image for my upcoming creator owned book "Albert Einstein Time Mason". I know I've shown a bunch of design work & such but now I'm ready to get moving on the actual book. There will be much more coming I just wanted to get this out there because I knew you guys were just dying to see what I was working on.

Holy cow. I cant believe I left you all waiting to find out the end of the story. Sorry about that I got a little busy before the con then was super busy after. Sorry to leave you hangin.

More work for WonderCon

So yesterday was a pretty good day. I got pgs 6&7 penciled and in the can. Im thinking about redrawing pnl 4 pg 7 to give it a lil more oommf. not sure that will have to come after i finish pg 8 today. let me know what you think.

I woke up at 10 hit the drawin board, then got my taxes done, came home and back to drawing it was. The layout for this pg was the real killer. I tried a million different combos of poses & nothing was coming out right.  I finally came on to this one and i thought the flow through the pg was pretty good so I got to pencilin. Loved doing these glamor shots of Storm. Now Im on to pg 6. This is where the action kicks in.

Changes

So I woke up this morning and wasn't happy with a few things on pg 4. I changed the dressing room door to a curtain in pnl 1. Added another dressing room behind kitty and a little more shadow for depth. In pnl 2 I moved Storms head over to the left a little. I was originally going for a chicken head thing but it wasn't reading for me.

So I know I have been slackin but I finished up pg 3 this morning (I didn't get up till 11am) & Im now on to pg 4. I really sat and stared at that first shot of the interior of the boutique for 4 days. I know its lame but some times a blank page scares the heck out of me. Back to work.

Quick design

Here are the beginnings of a character design that I started today. its gonna drive me nuts all night that I didn't have time to finish it before work. Its for a upcoming pitch that I have with a friend of mine.

Here are a few scans of asome work im doing on my style. Ive been way too labor intensive lately and I need to refine my look. Been looking at guts like Peter Snejbjerg, Chris Samnee & of course Alex Toth. Also a guy thats new to me Tonci Zonjic. His work is killing me.
